Remember my picture of the waste-paper basket? [link]

I hope this is the right subsection to put in. I feel that a situation where a 'toy' version of myself is surreal enough. I think, anyway... :hmm:

I had lots of problems on this picture, although painting/drawing was easy. The pink rubbish in the bin is probably because I didn't use white emulsion to start on the background. Then I had to scan in a 25 by 20 inch picture onto a A4 sized scanner  , then piece the bits of the picture together, and despite changing contrast and brightness, still looks a little wrong. Check out the right-hand side of the picture to see what I mean.

It took me ages to do this, and I can't wait to start another project... I don't know if anyone would want a print of this, depending on quality? Please say...

Acrylic on red board. Enjoy. :-)

Thanks! It was a pain to scan the whole thing in and put it together. Makes me wonder if there was such a place that could scan reasonably big pictures in one go... :phew:

There are such places - I recommend phoning up likely looking places in the yellow pages (I look under 'Printers' and then phone any that say they do scanning) and asking, giving them the dimensions (including thickness) of things you want scanning. Also make sure you ask for a price because these vary wildly (from maybe around £2 to £50 for a single fairly large scan!). I feel like an expert on the scanning scene in Manchester, having had lots of problems with this myself!
Yeah, you submitted this comment AGES ago, so you've probably found a solution...but I thought I'd comment anyway, since it's been a particular frustration of mine!

Thanks for the reply! I actually haven't looked for a solution, but your tip has given me a bit of help if I need it in the future. ;)
